“Dr. Seussing” acronyms, abbreviations, technical terms, and certifications on the resume.

So what are we talking about here? (This heat might be affecting things in our creative learning centre.) Find out what we’re talking about this month.
If you have ever read a Dr. Seuss book, you know that he was able to use creative words, and rhymes; sometimes leaving us scratching our heads as to what he was thinking about at the time of authoring these wonderfully-weird pieces of work.
Well, similarly, we find that resumes contain a lot of Dr. Suessisms, with respect to acronyms, technical terms and the other.
Here’s what we’ve noticed on resumes:
If you have WHIMS (WHMIS), MatLab (MATLAB), solidworks (SOLIDWORKS), AUTOcad (AutoCAD), cod (COD), or power point (PowerPoint) and the list goes on, then we would recommend going through the rest of your document to ensure the rest are correctly stated.
Or writing the acronym first, then the meaning of the word second, like POS (Point of Sale). This is another common error.
If you have taken the time to learn the skills, or obtain the certification, then please do write down the correct way of presenting the item.
Do you have any examples of common mistakes relating to abbreviations, technical terms and other items you can share?
