How to Ace an Interview

Using a professionally crafted resume is the first step to secure an interview, but how do you ace the interview? Keep reading if you had an interview that didn’t go as planned.
Get to the point! (read here for the summary)
Dress according to the job that you plan on being promoted into, rather than the job that you are planning to work in.
Do your homework and learn about the company and some details that show interest.
Prepare a list of possible questions, both behavioural (HR people are trained to ask the behavioural), hypothetical, and the odd questions (how many planes are flying around right now)
Dress for the future
If you are unsure of what to wear to the interview, we suggest that you dress for the part of your potential future manager. So in other words, think about what your manager should be wearing and dress to that specification. Always wear a business suit (women) and or suit and tie (men). If the interviewer states the place of work is business casual, this means you can skip the tie and or sport jacket.
Do your homework
Think back to taking a test or exam. Preparing for an interview is similar to studying for a test, as you will need to review the details of the potential employer. Take a trip to their website and learn a little about the company.
Prepare a list of questions
Aside from finding out what you look like, how you sound and how pleasant you are, the question period will be the make or break part of the interview. Knowing which question that will be asked is pretty difficult to predict, so by learning how to answer the question will be most important. You will also need to know how to answer the odd questions that will surely cause you to pause and think.
