Common resume errors – series 1.0

We compiled a list of common resume errors we see on a daily basis, and thought we would share these with you. Find out what the first error is in this series!

Misspelled skills, designations and other

We see a lot of mistakes relating to software skills, technical acumen, and designations. For example, we see a lot of variations of MATLAB, a computation software program, spelled in various formats. We notice WHMIS is another one, and even the CHRP, HR designation is sometimes mislabeled, to name just a few.

It’s really important to get these right, and looks bad if you are a programmer with a program spelled incorrectly, or a health and safety person who teaches ‘WHIMIS’.

The bottom line on skills, designations and other

If you invested the time (and money!) to gain the skill, designation, or other, please make sure to spell it right! The employer will know when it’s not and it doesn’t look good.

Hope that tip helped, and look out for more in the series. Don’t forget to share this article below and let us know if you have any questions, comments or need some help through email or phone.
