Do you want more money? Be a Jerk..

Is this true? Research suggests that nice people often finish last and the office jerk usually gets her or his way.
According to researchers (yes I know, what you think about studies, but it still makes for an interesting read), those who were less agreeable and achieved lower scores were likely to earn more money, versus those that were more agreeable.
Among those that achieved higher pay, were likely to be associated with these words, “stubborn, difficult, and outspoken”.
Men won the least agreeable contest, but were the winners when it came to earning more.
But what is really going on here? What do you think or why do you think this is the case?
