Thank you emails are important

Thank you emails are an important part of the interview and candidate selection process, so why should you create and send one? Be the first to find out.
Thank you emails are important for a couple reasons. We created a short post for October as we have lots on the go, and I’m sure you do as well.
You may like to read our article about thank you letters here to get a good idea of how to craft one.
Cement and enhance your profile
If you can imagine meeting several people during the course of a day, asking the same questions and potentially receiving the same answers, you may lose track of who was the better candidate, or if there was something that your notes did not cover that would indicate the better person for the job. By sending a thank you email, you refresh the person’s memory of who you were, and put your profile at the top of pile (either mentally or physically).
Demonstrate your appreciation for the meeting
Interviews are time consuming to prepare for, conduct and complete, so it’s great to thank the interviewer for their time. Demonstrating a good sense of positive personality is always a great idea.
Remember, you do not have to sell yourself again, that’s poor etiquette. You are truly and sincerely thankful for their time, and adding salesy language is not going to get you the job.
Thank you emails are a great way to complete the interview process and to provide some short-term closure.
