250,000 jobs available in Canada?

According to the Globe and Mail (see full article), there are a quarter of a million jobs just waiting to be filled. Where are these jobs and how can you get one?

 

Statistics Canada released an interesting report regarding job vacancies from Fall of 2011 (not too far in the past).

 

So where are these jobs? Mostly in the western part of Canada. Alberta and Saskatchewan having the highest vacancy rates. I’m sure you guessed that the oil and gas extraction sectors are scarcely supplied.

 

What about the rest of Canada. From our experience there is always going to be a need to fill talent gaps due to a host of reasons. Maternity and parental leaves, deaths, terminations, promotions etc. are frequent occurrences in the business world.
